You finish the PoE 2 campaign feeling sorted, then a Tier 1 map humbles you fast. Your stash is empty, your gear's got no rarity, and every upgrade looks miles away. If you're in that spot, stop chasing big-ticket drops and start building repeatable income instead; learning where PoE 2 Currency actually comes from early on is more about routine than luck.

Start with the Nexus loop

In early maps, the Nexus should be your first "proper" focus. Clear corrupted zones, pick up Cleansed Maps, and don't panic-run them the moment they drop. Hold a few and wait for layouts that won't waste your time with awkward backtracking. After a Nexus clear, check the modifiers carefully, because Mirrored Fury is the one you're hoping to see. It won't show every time, and yeah, it's RNG, but when it does appear those mini-bosses are basically a paycheck: they'll reliably drop Fracturing Orbs. Early on, guaranteed value beats gambling on rare drops every single day.

Anomaly Maps are your early jackpot

Anomaly Maps are a straight-up shortcut when you're undergeared. They funnel you into boss fights you can handle earlier than most people think, like the encounters tied to Temporal Sandstorm or Eye of the Storm. The reason these fights matter isn't because your build is suddenly a boss killer; it's because of what they drop. Lineage Support Gems can sell for real money, and the key detail is the drop chance doesn't care about item rarity. So even if your gear is scuffed and you're wearing "whatever I found," you're still playing the same lottery ticket as a magic-find character.

Daily farming that doesn't require a big setup

For your regular mapping, keep it simple and consistent: slot an Abyss tablet into every map. It's low effort, it adds monsters, and it feeds you a steady stream of crafting bits you can flip or use. Once you scrape together around 100% to 150% item rarity, that's when Omen of Light farming starts to feel worth the time. If rarity still isn't happening but your clear speed is good, switch lanes into Ritual. It's a solid bridge because you can hunt Omens through tribute rerolls instead of praying they drop in the wild.

Saving your spikes for the right moment

One thing that trips people up is blowing their best content as soon as they get it. Don't. Save your strongest Anomaly maps and any Mirrored Fury Cleansed Maps for when you can run a Visions of Paradise tablet, because that's when the big hits land harder. Keep the steady farm going, take the guaranteed profits when they show, and your stash will grow without you forcing Tier 15 dreams on a Tier 6 budget; if you still want to smooth the bumps while you scale, having a plan for Divine Orb buy options can help you stay focused on mapping instead of stalling out.
