I think it was to lure in prospective buyers from different FPS franchises on the different consoles of their multi-release. I can't be positive, but with a few guns and exotics, some ship graphics it felt like their draw was hyped up and bought into it. I don't think the exclusive guns make that much of a difference (I own nearly every exotic on the Xbox360 version) and I doubt one or two more guns would make a difference. But was it just for aesthetics? To have the right to say "I have something you don't?"
