Halo: Spartan Assault, the first Halo game designed for mobiles, is coming to consoles.

Microsoft announced today that Halo: Spartan Assault--originally released in July--will be released on Xbox 360 and Xbox One in December from 343 Industries and Vanguard Games. No price for the console version of Halo: Spartan Assault was specified. The Windows 8 and Windows Phone version currently sells for $7.

The Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of Halo: Spartan Assault will feature an all-new online co-op mode, as well as the previously released single-player Operation Hydra expansion.

Multiplayer between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Halo: Spartan Assault is not supported. Microsoft did not say if cross-platform play between console and PC or console and smartphones will be supported. Microsoft said previously that cross-platform play between consoles and PC "makes sense."

Halo: Spartan Assault is a twin-stick-controlled top-down shooter takes place between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4. The game contains 30 missions, integration with Halo 4 that includes additional experience points and unlockable Spartan emblems, and in-app purchases.

In addition to Halo: Spartan Assault, an all-new Halo game is currently in development for Xbox One. This game is "legitimate," according to Microsoft Studios VP Phil Spencer.

Good, I wanted to play this but not on a PC. It will be great to just kick back on the couch and play it with the Xbox controller. I'm not sure if I am getting an Xbox One right away so I will probably play on the 360.

Thank god for this news. Hopefully it's dropped a little in price by now.

Status updates

The revamp is complete!
Ooops I did it again.
Please don't tell me I'm in a Ghost Town :(
So sad that Halo CE for PC is ending in a few days.
Time to start gearing up for Destiny, I guess
