Menu Load Times

Anyone else wonder why they never gave us hotslots/hotkeys for ammo packs and consumables. It takes so long to enter menus, then toggle over to eat heavy ammo/ammo packs in general, or to switch guns. Also, they let you look at items while dead and compare, but you can't equip then until you respawn (PVP).

So anyone else frustrated with this? I know I AM!

IF anyone plays NEXT GEN console DESTINY (Looking at you, Xbox One players, PS4 players) can you attest to how fast menu load times are? I have a friend who plays it on both and says Next Gen loading times are 50% less than loading the menu on the older consoles. Don't know if this is true or not, but I hope not. It doesn't seem like something that is system reliant - just game reliant.
